BC 311 Hydrophone

Hydrophone BC 311 is a robust spherical compact hydrophone for absolute measurements of the sound spreading in actuating medium. The hydrophone has first-class characteristics in all geometry directions. It has omnidirectional characteristics in angular range, 270° wide in the x-z plane, and 360° in the x-y plane.

The hydrophone BC 311 can operate as a sound projector as well as be used to measure sound spreading in liquid, and in the course of reciprocity calibration. The fact is that the hydrophone piezoelectric sensing element has a reversibility effect. Mechanical stimulation leads to forming of an electric signal and vice-versa —alternative current voltage applied to sensing element leads to stimulation of mechanical oscillations. The figure shows the hydrophone BC 311 frequency curves. The presented data refers to 1-meter radiation distance. The curve inclination is typical for hydrophones with piezoelectric sensing elements.

BC 312 Hydrophone

Hydrophones BC 312 are dynamic pressure transducers with even response curve throughout the whole range of frequencies observed in any homogeneous medium, including air, sea and fresh water. Used to determine explosion pressure in the range up to 1,000 kPa, pulse duration 2-5 ms (time sensitivity: some 0.1 ms).

They are also are used in hydro-acoustics for reading-through underwater signals and noise, for measuring purposes, and also as components of beamed receiver hydroacoustic antennas.

These can be supplied without an integrated amplifier, in such case, it can be used as a sonar transmitter.

BC 313 Hydrophone

Hydrophone BC 313 is a dynamic pressure transducer with even response curve throughout the complete range of frequencies observed in any homogeneous medium, including air, sea and fresh water; the hydrophones are also intended to address hydro acoustics issues: to measure sound pressure level in liquid media and to observe cavitation processes. These hydrophones use piezoceramic element as a signal transducer. The integrated amplifier allows transmitting signals via long submarine cables (down to 1,000 m ocean depth).

Hydrophone internal nodes are electrically insulated from the metal casing. Special attention has been paid to signal interference protection. This enables using hydrophones both in air and water reservoirs, where the electric potential of water differs from that of the earth as well as in cases of high electromagnetic field presence. These can be used to determine explosion pressure up to 1,000 kPa, pulse duration 2-5 ms (time sensitivity – approximately 0.1 ms).

  • balanced output hydrophone
  • operates in heavy interference environment
  • can be used with extra-long cable
  • detection of earthquakes in oceans
  • seismic studies at sea shelf.
